About Ceylon Whole Nutmeg
Ceylon Nutmeg, grown in the lush tropical gardens of Sri Lanka, is valued for its warm, slightly sweet, and intensely aromatic flavor. Sri Lankan nutmeg is distinguished by its higher essential oil content (up to 14%) compared to many other origins. The fruit produces two separate spices — nutmeg (the seed kernel) and mace (the lacy red covering). Our whole nutmeg is carefully selected, dried, and graded to ensure only the highest quality reaches our customers. The versatile spice is used in baking, savory dishes, beverages, and traditional medicine.

FEORCEYLON Values
Hand-selected for size, weight, and oil content. Dried naturally to preserve aromatic compounds. No fumigation or chemical treatment — 100% natural processing.
Making Method
Nutmeg fruits are harvested when fully ripe, and the outer husk is removed to reveal the seed covered in mace. The mace is carefully separated and dried separately. Nutmeg seeds are sun-dried for 6-8 weeks until the inner kernel rattles — indicating proper moisture content. Seeds are then cracked, graded by size, and packaged whole or ground to order.
Origin & Sourcing
Sourced from nutmeg gardens in the Kandy and Matale districts of central Sri Lanka. The altitude and consistent tropical rainfall provide ideal conditions for nutmeg cultivation.
